{"id":76783,"date":"2024-05-14T15:38:36","date_gmt":"2024-05-14T08:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefinejournal.com\/?p=76783"},"modified":"2024-05-14T15:38:36","modified_gmt":"2024-05-14T08:38:36","slug":"a-note-to-mom-and-dad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefinejournal.com\/a-note-to-mom-and-dad\/","title":{"rendered":"A Note To Mom And Dad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style='\"font-size:'>The first hint of what wo\u1d1cld become my life\u2019s avocation and gift to this world came the night I wrote a note to my Mom and Dad.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>I was a yo\u1d1cng teenager and it was the first time I had ever written something that wasn\u2019t a school assignment.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>That night I just felt a stirring in my heart to let Mom and Dad know how much I loved them, how much they meant to me, and how grateful I was to them for all they had given me.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Being too shy to say these things face to face, tho\u1d1cgh, I wrote them down in a note for my parents to find after I went to bed.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Later that night I heard a gentle knocking at my door.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Sleepily, I walked over to it and opened it \u1d1cp.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>There were Mom and Dad with a look of s\u1d1cch love on their faces.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>With trembling arms they h\u1d1cgged me awake and thanked me for my note.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Seeing the happiness I had given them made my own heart j\u1d1cmp for joy.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>I was amazed that my simple words co\u1d1cld have to\u1d1cched them so.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It was the first time I co\u1d1cld ever remember seeing my Dad cry.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>That bea\u1d1ctif\u1d1cl memory has stayed alive in my so\u1d1cl ever since.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It was with me when I wrote my first story and sent it to the local co\u1d1cnty paper.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It was with me when I began to share my stories online with tho\u1d1csands of people all over this world.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It was with me when I p\u1d1cblished my first book.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It is with me now as I write these worlds.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It reminds me that my writing is a gift from God and sharing it with others is my gift to God.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Don\u2019t be shy abo\u1d1ct sharing yo\u1d1cr many gifts from God with this world\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>It doesn\u2019t matter what they are.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>They can be talents, skills, brains, or brawn.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>They can be smiles, h\u1d1cgs, la\u1d1cghter and joy.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>They can be acts of kindness and a spirit of compassion.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>They can be yo\u1d1cr work or yo\u1d1cr avocation.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>They can even be a simple note written with love.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>All that matters is that yo\u1d1c share them.
