Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed their second child together, daughter Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, on Jan. 22.\n

The royal family\u2019s Instagram account shared the news on Wednesday, with the first photo of the newborn taken by Mozzi, 41.\n

\u201cHer Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on Wednesday, 22nd January, at 12:57pm,\u201d the account read.\n

Athena was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.\n

\u201cThe King and Queen, and other members of The Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news,\u201d the message continued. \u201cPrincess Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.\u201d\n

The Princess of York, 36, welcomed her first child \u2014 a baby girl named Sienna \u2014 with her husband on Sept. 18, 2021.\n

Both of Beatrice\u2019s daughter\u2019s middle names are Elizabeth, as a nod to Beatrice\u2019s late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.\n

Mozzi is also a proud dad to 8-year-old son Christopher \u201cWolfie\u201d Mapelli Mozzi, whom he shares with ex Dara Huang.\n

Buckingham Palace announced in October 2024 that Beatrice was pregnant with her second child.\n

Beatrice\u2019s new daughter is 11th in the line of succession to the British throne. Beatrice is ninth in line, her first daughter is 10th in line, and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, 34, is 12th in line.\n

Last month, Beatrice and Mozzi canceled their Christmas trip to Italy due to her pregnancy.\n

The couple were supposed to join Mozzi\u2019s parents in Italy, but because of medical advise that Beatrice received, they stayed in England and joined the rest of the royal family at Sandringham on Christmas.\n
