\u201cThe worst comment online that I\u2019ve gotten is when someone asked if her face had been pushed onto a skillet. Basically, saying her face looked grilled,\u201d Bowering told the Mirror.\n
Marianna revealed that her daughter was subjected to hurtful remarks, being labeled as \u201chideous\u201d and a \u201cdefect\u201d. The cruelty and insensitivity of such words only added to the challenges this family faced, but their resilience and determination to overcome these obstacles ultimately led to a remarkable transformation.\n
Despite the rude comments, Bowering is doing everything in her power to make sure Angelica grows up knowing that she\u2019s beautiful just the way she is.\n

Recently, the 27-year-old mother decided to use makeup and paint a copy of 5-year-old daughter\u2019s birthmark on her own face.\n
\u201cI got the idea from vascular birthmark awareness day, where they encourage people to paint a heart on the cheeks,\u201d Bowering said, according to The Epoch Times. \u201cInitially I just did the heart with my makeup look but then I thought why don\u2019t I go all out and do Angelica\u2019s port wine stain.\u201d\n
\u201cI wanted to be just as beautiful as her.\u201d
\nMarianna was distraught when some people suggested that her daughter\u2019s facial spots would fade over time, while others suggested that Angelica could simply conceal them with makeup if she wished.\n
These remarks only added to the mother\u2019s pain and frustration, as she questioned why her daughter should have to hide her natural beauty rather than embrace it.\n
It was a heartbreaking reminder of the harsh realities faced by those who do not conform to conventional standards of beauty, but it also underscored the importance of acceptance and love for all individuals, regardless of their appearance.\n

\nFrom the beginning, neither Bowering nor her husband believed their daughter\u2019s birthmark was something they nor she should be ashamed of. So, they actively work to make sure they know it\u2019s something that should be celebrated.\n

Prior to the matching \u201cbirthmark,\u201d Bowering dressed up Angelica\u2019s port wine stain with glitter to \u201cmake it shine.\u201d\n
Children with port wine stains on their faces are at risk for developing other health conditions, but Bowering told TODAY that Angelica is healthy.\n
\u201cThankfully, we\u2019ve done tests and Angelica is totally healthy,\u201d Bowering said. \u201cWe just need to have regular check-ups, especially for her eyes as glaucoma can be a concern.\u201d\n
